Call it whatever you want...it's my life, and I'm currently loving it. Wonder what will happen next? You know I have more fun than you'll ever know. And to the haters: you may have it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile. Try to keep up. the one and only, JESSICA

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me.
They put me down cuz of jealousy.
But I'm not not, I'm not that girl.
And it's not not, no it's not my world.

skipping school

I missed all day of school! Yesss! Me plus eight other 4-county band people from my school got to go to rehersal ALL day. The playing part was lame and boring, but me plus eight had sooo much fun. We are such a odd group, but it all works out strangely well. There's Me. And Marina and Shannon (BFFs). And Patrick and Jordan (2 eighth grade guys). And Julian and Chris (2 seventh grade guys). And Kalie and Nicole (2 eighth grade girls whom no one cares for particuarly much). We have the craziest times. Marina, Shannon, and I led games of telephone, truth or dare, and 'have you ever'. Shannon won 'have you ever'. lol things like this make me wish 8th grade would never end, but then I think of the teachers at my school. Ewwy. There's more fun to come tomorrow afternoon. HAHAHA it's the final performance, and the band sucks. Oh well. I still love being me, J

too much work

I've been so busy with homework and projects, plus I have this 4-country honor band that I'm in. It is a great experience but lots of work. I'm getting really behind on my school crap. I got my hair cut today and I got a side bang again. Adorable! Actually, I came home and thought it could be better, so I cut it myself. lol what else? I'm also loosing sleep which makes me grumpy. And that makes my friends mad at me. So I'm just really screwed up and will continue to be screwed up until Feb. 2. I have band stuff and projects due up to that date. Wish me luck and leave tons of comments to cheer me up! ily, J

Spolier...or not

One publication believes that their source has revealed the hidden identity of the title character on "Gossip Girl."
Ben Widdicombe of the "Daily News" alleges to have a source who claims that there is a deep feud on set, and that the true identity of "Gossip Girl" will be revealed as Eric van der Woodsen.
The mysterious blogger "Gossip Girl" is the queen of all gossip, and her site is a must-read for the most fashionable teens in New York City's Upper East Side. She knows everything that goes on, but none of the characters on "Gossip Girl" know how she does it.
In response to the report from the "Daily News," the "New York Magazine" blog "Daily Intelligencer" took the report and explains why this spoiler isn't feasible.
Among the reasons "New York Magazine" believes this rumour is false is because in the original book series, the identity of Gossip Girl is never revealed.
"New York Magazine" also says that at the beginning of episode one, Gossip Girl blogged that Serena was spotted in Grand Central Station - while at the time of the spotting Eric was in a mental institution because he attempted suicide. Presumably, Eric would not have the kind of high-tech gadgetry and internet access that the real Gossip Girl would have while wearing a straight jacket.
The character of Gossip Girl is currently voiced by actress Kristen Bell, who could theoretically appear on the series as the titular narrator, but no plans seem to be in place at the moment.
Perhaps producers are leaving that surprise for season two.
"Gossip Girl" airs Tuesday nights on CTV. Check listings for broadcast details.

looking back on my week

Talk about a crazy fun week! I guess I'm getting pretty used to this. Starting from last Friday:
1/11 (Fri) - Winter Formal
Had so much fun dancing for hours with my best friends. I am really enjoying being in 8th grade, the oldest in the school. Everyone loves us! All of the guys wanted to dance with us. lol we love giving them something to talk about. Or...at least I do.
1/12 (Sat) - Kaitlyn slept over. Love herrr!
1/14 (Mon) - back to school
Normal, boring day until I learned from my homeroom teacher (who loves to get kids in trouble) that I was in serious trouble and had to meet with the principal for "defacing a book". What a fun experience that was! I'm sure Miss 'let's ruin Jessica's day by getting her into a conflict' was pleased to know my only punishment was replacing the book. Of course the whole middle school found out and loves me for getting out of this. It wasn't a huge deal to me, really.
1/15 (Tues) - blah school
Nothing too exciting. I made sure the whole school knew the next day was my birthday, but that's about it.
1/16 (Wed) - best day ever
MY BIRTHDAY! Walked into jazz band at 7:30 AM and was greeted with the band playing Happy Birthday for me with the band director singing along. lol it was great. I wore my tiara all day so no one could forget and after school my family took me out to Outback for dinner. Yummy!
1/17 (Thurs) - LOOK!
Showed off my new Juicy charm (parrot) which everyone loved. Funny day in my indep. math group (for smart people). It's only three people (Me, Nate, and Matt) and we have so much fun. We get to be ahead of the rest of our class and not pay attention. Lucky! Nicole and some of her friends are obsessed with Matt (he is good looking) and they try to flirt with him. She was chasing him around the room with a water bottle and he tripped over a chair and hit the window. Nate and I were practically on the floor cracking up.
1/18 (Fri) - sleepover
Best friends Marina, Maria, Shannon, and Maddy slept over. We jumped in the pool with our clothes on, baked a cake, watched American Pie beta house, ran around my neighborhood, and played truth or dare countless times. We also used those temporary tattoos you can buy at Walgreen's and put them all over our bodies. We each put a 7th grade guy's name on as a joke. Maria and Marina did Jimmy (they torment him), Shannon put Erik, and I put Nate. lol I'd say it was pretty successful.
1/19 (Sat) - We italians have more fun
Italian Night: Jazz band gig at school. I was reluctant to go (not like I had much of a choice) and was 15 minutes late. Thankfully the band director wasn't in the band room when I arrived. Maria is my only best friend in Jazz band so we always hang out together there. She had told Nicole about the Jimmy tattoo and I told her about Nate. Nicole obviously hates me so: "Nathaniel! Come here! Jessica has something to show you!" I honestly didn't care so I showed him the tattoo and we told him the story. I have never seen that kid smile so big. (BTW - He's the one I slow danced with at the formal) He kept looking at me the whole time. He is such a sweetheart. The whole band found out about the tattoos and it really gave them something to talk about. I enjoyed the occasion immensely. It makes me sad to think the year is half over and I won't have this anymore after that. Wow.
1/20 (Sun) - Bring it on
I've basically been watching movies all day. Bring it on marathon on ABC Family...yep. No school tomorrow! That's all for now, J

party?

The big question: Am I having a birthday party? Yes and no. I'm having my best friends sleepover for a crazy night of scary movies and stuff. Apparently, Maria is bring cake mix and we will be baking. That should be interesting. I can't wait to see what our cake will turn out like. lol Maria says she knows what she's doing. Anyway, I'm sure it will be great and everyone who isn't my best friend will wish they were. Although, anyone who reads my blog is my best friend. You will get your exclusive behind the scenes look the day after. Of course I'll post everything. your BFF, J
YOUR invited...
what: Jessica's 14th birthday sleepover review
when: January 20th
where: here!
time: unspecified
RSVP: no need. I know you wouldn't miss it for the world. XOXO

It's a girl

LOS ANGELES -- "The Simple Life" just got more complicated for Nicole Richie: She's a first-time mom.

Richie, 26, gave birth Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to a daughter named Harlow Winter Kate Madden, People magazine reported on its Web site.
The father is Richie's 28-year-old boyfriend, Joel Madden, of the rock group Good Charlotte.
"We are very blessed she's healthy and beautiful and so good already," Madden told People on Saturday. "We are very happy."

Calls to the couple's representative at Handprint Entertainment, Richie's publicist and the hospital were not immediately returned Saturday.

Richie, the socialite daughter of singer Lionel Richie, is perhaps best known for costarring with Paris Hilton in the reality show "The Simple Life."

Last year, she spent 82 minutes in jail after being convicted of driving under the influence of drugs. She was arrested in December 2006 after witnesses reported seeing her Mercedes-Benz SUV headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank.

Richie was reportedly in labor just down the hall from pop star Christina Aguilera, who also became a new mother. Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman also welcomed a new child a couple of hours after Richie.

Plump your Pucker, a The Balm product, is one of my favorite lip glosses. It comes in delicious flavors and gives you plumper lips after 30 days. This is the perfect gloss for Valentine's Day. Check out The Balm products at sephora.com or just click here.

So much fun

MeMaria and IMaria

The Winter Formal was a blast. Everyone looked gorgeous and enjoyed themselves. My friends and I danced together the whole time. All of the younger people wanted to dance with us, too. I slow danced with a 7th grader (lol he's my friend from math class) and Marina slow danced with a 6th grader (I think he was dared). Maria asked this really tall 7th grader to dance and he rejected her. We think he's shy. We all went crazy and probably embarassed ourselves. Too bad we don't have another dance until Spring. Can't wait!

BTW- I added a video to the post Who's that?, which is a few posts down. It is really funny and totally adorable. I hope you like it! Don't forget to comment, J

Tomorrow

My cousin, Kaitlyn is on her way over right now, and we will be getting ready for the formal. She and I are the same age and have pretty much the same friends, so we are basically best friends. I probably won't be posting again until tomorrow. I'll take lots of pictures to post and tell you everything then. XOXO, J

Who's that?

Now that I've started talking about my friends and things like that more, I think I should breifly explain some stuff.
best friends.
Marina: The rebelous one. This girl is insane. She is an extreme pro at truth or dare and comepletely hilarious. She has been my little shrimp-sized best friend since 6th grade. Whenever I'm with this girl, we pull some crazy stunts and totally embarass ourselves. I love it.
Maria: The smart one. We have a lot in common. I can tell her anything and she will listen. If I need answers for the homework, I can always trust hers. She can be serious, yet crazy. She's been my very tall best friend since 5th grade, where we caused trouble and made so many memories. I can never forget those times.
Shannon: The wild one. She is always making me laugh. I can never be bored when I'm with her. She totally reminds me of Dylan from the Clique, but with Alicia's chest. This girl is a great person to talk to about anything and a fabulous shopping buddy.
friends.
Maddy: The silly one. She is really fun to be with no matter what. We just became closser this year and can't wait to hang out more.
Devon: The boy-obsessed one. I love her because she knows who she likes and who she dislikes. It doesn't change often and she is very consistant about it. This girl always talks about guys, guys, guys. We just became friends this year.
evil.
Nicole: The one with the attitude problem. She used to be one of my best friends, but now she hates my guts. I say one thing and she starts muttering under her breath. Weird. She is sarcastic to everyone (even adults) and quite rude. Everyone thinks she is a mean girl, but they are too scared to do anything about it. She hates me the most, but I don't give a crap.
So that's the deal. Now you will understand who I mean when I talk about someone on the blog. Check out this video I made of me and my friends. It's hilarious. I'll try to post again tomorrow before the formal. Goodnight and Goodbye, J

Winter Formal

Tomorrow (FRI) night is the winter formal for my school. It is a very rare occasion due to the fact that my school nearly never allows "social activity" between students. lol like we don't throw our own parties? Well, whatever. There are four frickin boys in my class. (And 4/4 are either gay or UGLY or taken) No joke! Yeah, so my friends and I make it a girls night out thing and chill afterwards. It will probably be a blast in a lets-act-like-retards-because-there's-no-one-to-impress way. Of course, it's also fun because my friends and I will be the hottest ones there. I hate how those girls who think they rock brag about their dresses and shoes the week before and then we show up and they realize what an idiot they made of themselves. Okay, I don't necessarily hate it. Oops! lol. I'll tell all after. I'm still not quite sure how to wear my hair...ideas? I'm always interested, J

Ed Westwick interview

For all the Gossip Girl fans out there, it came down to last night's episode. We've seen the steamy romps, heard all the secrets and wondered who will prevail in this cat-and-mouse game. Before the episode aired, TVGuide.com caught up with British native Ed Westwick, who plays GG's most evil Upper East Sider, Chuck. Would Chuck win Blair in the end? Westwick couldn't spill all the beans, but he gave us some insight into the many layers of this twisted group of friends… and enemies.

TVGuide.com: I'm loving the show. It's totally addictive.
Ed Westwick: That's fantastic, I'm really glad to hear it.

TVGuide.com: Now, I've actually already seen this week's episode....
Westwick: Oh, have you? A sneak preview, huh?

TVGuide.com: Yeah. I thought it was the best one!
Westwick: It feels like it's kind of the climax almost, because everything is boiled up and it's ready to explode. There's the tiff that happens between Nate and Chuck. Blair has her breakdown.... S--t hits the fan, so to speak.

TVGuide.com: Blair's world basically gets turned upside down. She's really the focus.
Westwick: Yeah, I think what everyone got from the previous episodes is that she's a control freak and has this hold on every aspect in her life — it appears that way. In this [episode], everything is ripped away from her. Things are totally out of her control and she really struggles to deal with it and Serena comes to her rescue and persuades her to stay.

TVGuide.com: Do you think Nate and Chuck will reconcile someday?
Westwick: I have no idea. Who knows what angle the writers will [take], whenever they come back. I'm incredibly excited to see what happens. There is that relationship and that history of two best friends, and there's always that possibility of getting back together, but Chuck [hasn't] really done a light thing [by sleeping with Blair].

TVGuide.com: What do you love about playing Chuck?
Westwick: Well, it's the multiple layers, it has to be. He has this dark side that has this interesting angle because the other characters are a nicer bunch, and Chuck has this demonic, evil side. But we saw in later episodes that he does help other people out and then goes back to his old ways with the whole love affair with Blair. He's actually in love with her, he thinks he's found the one. I think we've only seen a small part of what he is.

TVGuide.com: It's nice that we do see a vulnerable, softer side of him when it comes to Blair.
Westwick: It was needed. It's good to mix it up.

TVGuide.com: To let him show his feelings and jealousy.
Westwick: It's just made him more interesting and helps the storyline.

TVGuide.com: Would you like to see Chuck and Blair reunite at some point?
Westwick: Maybe. You know, they always say opposites attract, but in this case they're very much the same. The extent of her attraction toward him is not as much as his attraction for her. To put two characters like Chuck and Blair together and to see them go at it and see what they fire up can definitely provide very, very good entertainment.

TVGuide.com: Do you get recognized a lot now?
Westwick: I'm actually at home in London and I have been recognized here, which is strange. But in New York, I've had people come up to me and tell me how much they enjoy the show, which is great because it means people are watching and it means you're doing your job well. It's great to be a part of something that is successful. The show hasn't even hit here yet, but people know already.

TVGuide.com: Do you guys all hang out off-set?
Westwick: We do. For me, especially, moving to the U.S. and not really having any friends, I relied on getting on with the rest of the cast and people I met through them. I was open to making friends, and luckily, I work with a great bunch of people and we really hit it off — there's definitely lifelong friendships being formed.

TVGuide.com: So after this week's ep, the strike cut us off. Have you been out to the picket lines at all?
Westwick: I have not. We finished in December, so I've been enjoying the holidays. It's all you can do at a time like this. It's one of those times that can be frustrating because the show's been picking up momentum, but you have to get on with it — see friends, family, go on a vacation — and look forward to going back to work when people are ready. It's nothing to worry about.

Spotted in the UES

J returning a few movies to Blockbuster. One of the movies: All About Eve. Interesting choice, little J... B at the Harmonie Club playing squash. The girl sure knows how to rally. Squash is an excellent stress reliever! C at the Art of Shaving getting, well duh, a shave. Chuck Bass doesn't do facial hair. N at Bendel's buying some headbands. Surely, they're not for himself. We're guessing he's getting them for his on-again girlfriend, B. S and D at the Regal Cinemas in Union Square seeing Juno. Kind of ironic, if you ask me...

Back to school blues (and yellows, too)

I am forced to return to school tomorrow, so I thought I would change the site around a bit just for fun. Who knows the next time I'll have time? It isn't spring yet, but I went for a sunshine/cloud type of style. I also made a new polyvore to match. Get the look here. I put together some fresh peices I know you will love. Comment and tell what you think! You are my sunshine, J

Jenny's had enough of B

Click here to see a clip of Jenny and Blair that has not been aired. I don't know when it will be. Maybe next episode?

New Years resolutions in the UES

I'm sure eveyone has made up their resolutions by now, but we are all curious to know what resolutions our favorite Upper East Sidders have planned for 2008.
Blair: To keep Chuck's mouth shut/Lose 1.75 pounds
Serena: To not revert to her old ways/Stop biting her nails
Dan: To be the best possible boyfriend to Serena/Write more
Nate: To make Blair his girlfriend again/Travel more
Chuck: To make Blair's life a living hell/Read more
Jenny: To be invited to eat lunch on the steps of the Met/Work on her audition tape for Project Runway
Rufus: To be the best single dad ever/Write more music
Lily: To make up her mind about marrying Bart/Volunteer more
Not too much of a surprise there! Think they'll stick to it? Will you? Keep me informed and I'll return the favor. XOXO

Spotted in the UES

C getting out of a limo in front of The Palace. Guess he is back in town? Thank God. It seemed a bit quiet around here. N at Debauve & Gallais buying really expensive chocolate. Wonder who it's for? Could it be for B? Are they officially back together?! Guess someone's Christmas wishes came true...Meanwhile, B and S exchanging Christmas gifts in SoHo. But of course, they wound up buying more than what they went down there with. J and D ice skating at the other Wollman Rink. This one is full of hipsters because it's in Prospect Park in Brooklyn (not to be confused with the one in Central Park). They were with that old rocker guy. Old rocker guy - not a good ice skater but kind of hot for an old rocker guy.
